Yes, you have missed the advancement potential of PhysAds over st. Sams.
A street samurai has absolute limits of essence and body index, Whereas
a physical adept is only limited by karma expenditure. I also say that
killing hands is not the only useful feature. Improved ability dice are
incredibly useful, (and economical), Combat Pool dice are useful and
irreplaceable in a surprise situation, and there is no better way to
piss off a munchkin troll with a strength 15 Ranger-X bow than to pluck
his 19M arrow right out of the air. And I imagine new and various
PhysAd powers are on the horizon, so don't discount the PA's yet.

And I have never seen a street samurai have an easy time with an
elemental or an insect spirit.
