Because riggers *AREN'T* in a virtual reality like the deckers. Riggers
interact with the "real" world, with a number of extras superimposed, ie,
input from vehicle scanners, targeting displays, thermal/UV overlays, etc.
I'll tell ya this, there ain't no way I'm driving when I can't see the road.

Remotes and drones for one. High-threat runs get them things like
vehicle-mounted heavy weapons. As the Samurai is the master of close-in
combat, the Riger is the master of heavy weapons (IMO, of course).
