According to the SR magic system, a mage can toss a spell at anything
that can be seen without electronic help. Any purely optical method
is valid for establishing line of sight. This includes mirrors,
"normal" binoculars, glasses, telescopic rifle sights, and even
fibre-optic cable. So long as the image is not transmited by electronic
means at any time between here and there, you can blast it. Now that
would have to be a pretty nifty setup to provide an picture w/o using
electronics, but it is possible.
