The Group seems a bit quiet, so to give me a break from my work
on my Quick Resolution System for Matrix, I have let my mind wander
through Magic a bit. So here goes a question that I have posted in the
past but I have never received an answer to...


Given that a Ward is an Astral Barrier that prevents Astral
beings from passing, and that a Quickening is anchored (not in the
new Metamagic sense) in the astral plane; What happens when a
Quickening encounters a Ward? (aka Initiate Magician with his/her
Increased Reactions quickened who is not astrally active at the
moment he crosses a ward.) Can this spell pass through the Ward
harmlessly? (I don't think so). Will the two engage in astral combat
automatically? (Possible, but the thought of having to resolve this
makes me cringe).

What do you folks do when a Quickening encounters a Ward?
