Actually, I've preserved the Armed/Unarmed Defense Pools from SR1 also and
done away with the mods for having more people in a melee; I think it works
better. (3 guys gang up on you; you've got a sword and Armed 6. The official
method lets you roll 6 dice to counterattack each of them, plus Combat Pool
dice, but at +2 on your Target Number. My way gives you 6 dice (once only -
not 6 per incoming attack!) plus Combat Pool with no TN increase.) Keeps
skill important, while also more accurately reflecting that if someone with
Wired-3 comes at an unboosted punk, the punk won't be able to react fast enough
to parry the flurry of incoming blows.

Well, I consider Combat Pool resistance to be dodging. (Yes, I know that a
Definitive Statement has been made by Official Sources that Combat Pool is
not dodging. In my campaign it is anyhow, so there!)

Sorry, can't get that gross with it. Both the Combat Pool (SR2, p. 84) and
the PhysAd Improved Ability dice (p. 125) state that the level of the skill is
the most dice that can be added (from each source). So he could only use 18
dice, not 20. (Still pretty gross...)
