In our game, after the damage resistance for the vehicle has taken
place, the rigger has to use either Willpower or body to resist a stun
wound equal to that which the vehicle just took to simulate how closely
in tune they are. (Generally making trauma dampers and damage compensators
rather important to many riggers.)
However, I didn't know what the real rules were on that subject
(other than they were different from what we were using) and couldn't find
anything to the effect in the SRII book. If you are wondering, where we
first got the idea for the rigger biofeedback was the fact that there is a
typo on the rigger character sheet in the RBB listing vehicle damage as stun
damage. We knew it was a typo - but it made sense to use anyways - though I
am sure many would disagree.
As far as explosions near sensors - I would treat that pretty much as
standard damage to the rigger in our game, and decrease his sensor rating, and
perhaps some other side effects. However, it would be easiy enough to create
an electrical discarge warhead or taser that is designed not to damage the
vehicle as much as use the vehicles sensor as a pathway to harming the rigger
inside.
