First of all, Hayden, you deserved the THWAP and I'm glad Rev gave it to you.
No I would have to agree with the naysayers who say they just wouldn't exist.
All of the Totems that exist (excluding the inanimate Druidic totems) are from
creatures that are alive today (2054). There are no living Dinosaurs in
Shadowrun. Also they all have some religious basis whether that religion is
Celtic Druidism or American Shamanism. I don't think there are any dinosaur
worshiping religions out there.
Tyger brings up that the dragon legends sprung from dinosaur bones, but since
dragons are not legends that doesn't apply. Also the Alligator argument doesn't
help at all since Alligator was always a Totem, the urban legends just allowed
it to be both a urban and rural totem.
I must also laugh heartily at the assertion that shamans are better than mages.
Yes they get instant spirits, and bonuses to certain spells, but I'd like to see
a shaman have four spirits summoned at one time or have a nature spirit maintain
a spell for him. Heck, elementals even have better attack powers than nature
spirits. (Major Plug by Mage PC)
Lastly, just say no to dino free spirits.
See Ya in Shadows,
Jason J Carter
