DN To hell with whether Tom wants it or not; From the noise that has
DN been generated there is a market for it here! Onse he sees this I
DN am sure that he will realise that there will also be interest out in
DN the 'real world.'

Folks, it strikes me that you don't HAVE to publish that way! You
(potentially) already have access to a mass market, namely the Net
community. Let me explain.

Recently here in the UK, Marcus Rowland, (a name some of you may
recognize), a GOOD RPG author, has released/is releasing his new RPG
(based on Rudyard Kipling's `Aerial Board of Control' (ABC) stories) as
SHAREWARE. He demonstrated this at GamesFair UK back in April, and the
distribution includes Graphics, Maps et al in the form of GIF files...

So, okay, you might not get massively rich overnight. AND you would
probably have to check that FASA won't hit you with a Lawsuit (that
seems to be akk the rage these days...) BUT, this is potentially a
GREAT way to establish a Reputation and an Interest Base, possibly to
the point that Tom Dowd & Co. may well decide it's simpler to go with
this stuff than otherwise...

I don't know exactly how many people subscribe to this list, but
there's also the REC.GAMES.FRP groups on USENET... Even if you don't
have access to the USENET/ALTNET groups, I'm sure there are those among
us who can Gateway news on your releases this way.

Now THAT's what I call Electronic Publishing!

Well, Folks, Wot'cher think?

These messages were posted a long time ago on a mailing list far, far away. The copyright to their contents probably lies with the original authors of the individual messages, but since they were published in an electronic forum that anyone could subscribe to, and the logs were available to subscribers and most likely non-subscribers as well, it's felt that re-publishing them here is a kind of public service.
