Personally, I kept the autosuccesses as a house rule, but restricted them
to Armed Combat, Unarmed Combat and Stealth. Oh, and Acrobatics. Only
things that would really apply. I've been very strict on their use, and
have had a nicely balanced campaign -- as well, there's the old rule
about the bigger the character, the nastier the enemy, and there's always
something out there that can eat your lunch without effort.
