I believe that whenit was said Inertia operates independent of gravity,
the writer was referring to the fact that an object outside a gravity
well ( deep space) that is accelerated will have inertia, even though
there is no gravity.

But we digress from the subject at hand. Dead Zones, whether you like them
or not, are an option available to the GM to issue a new challenge to the
characters. We are all rather well entrenched in our positions now; if anyone
has anything new to ask or add, please do so, but let's try to keep the
discussions based on what would happen, rather than debate the finer points
of Newtonian Physics and Relativity.
