I don't think it's a typo. Of course, 2nd Ed is all I own. Never looked
at magic prior to that.
But in a way it makes sense. Metahuman mages and human adepts get lots
of points because they pay for it in other ways. Certainly, a fire adept
with Force 6 in a bunch of Fire spells is scary. A Sorcery Adept with
50 Force of spells is also formidable, but since he can't summon
elementals and can't conjure, he's relatively useless in Astral
Combat against serious opposition. And Shamanic Adepts lose their
bonus dice and can only cast certain spells. I don't think it's too
unbalancing.
