Extreme range is actually extreme *effective* range, the maximum range that
the weapon will actually hit what you aimed at. It has nothing to do with
whether you can see the target or not. (Note that the ranges in Shadowrun
are designed to reflect close-quarters firefights in dark alleys, so they
don't work very well for snipers).

Beyond extreme range I suggest that the Stray Shots rule be used.
