I have always thought of the smartgun link as putting a cross hair on the
users field of vision, you put the cross hair where you want to shoot and
the feedback circuits in the arm and gun bring the weapon to bare.
I did not mind my players using this idea although my NPC tended to get
shot up. To remedy this I have brought some new house rules into play
in a campain I have recently started.
1. I use vision modifiers pretty freely, and I have a weather table I use.
(As a side note has any one posted a table like this with factual
Knowledge, mine was a guessamate only, drizzly misty fairly cold,
based on the fact I come from a costal town about the same degrees
south)
2. Every range you bring the target in reduces your Combat pool by 2 dice
due to reduced field of vision and increased concentration etc. The
gunner just cannot be as aware of his/her surroundings. (Tactical comp.
probably negates or reduces this but I have never had to deal with one.)
Something to discuss anyways.
