Hope everyone enjoyed the LAVT and Talon bike posts,

Some thoughts on matters:

Electric Drives:
I currently am a member of the WVU Hybrid Electric Vehicle
Project Team. On June 1-6, in Dearborn Michigan the vehicle competed.
The WVU team finished 6th. out of 35 entries. I unfortunately
could not attend all the evevnts, but I did get to look at all
the vehicles. And from them I learned one thing: Electric Drives
can be FAST!!! With combustion engines being about 40+% efficient and
some electric motors being upwards of 96% efficient, I think you see what
I am trying to say.
Another note: GM Impact, scheduled for production in
1996 has 0-60 mph in 5.9 secs, 120 mile range on 6 hr charge and
top speeds of 110 mph +. With the advent of such things as Ultracapicitors,
which are being researched, electric cars may be a really good alternative
to gas cars.

As you can till, I am really enthused about this. Maybe it is the
result of 1.5 yrs of research. Maybe it is 1am and I still have
a good bit of work to do...

The motor in wheel idea is from GE. They do that with their LARGE
Tonka type dump trucks. Imagen four 200 HP engines!!!

The active suspension and 20 inche wide tires are the brain child
of some English guy on Discovery channel (?).

OK, now i am babbling....
