Some of the 'locals' here aren't too thrilled about that too. I just tell
these people that if they want to have beta or alpha, either give me one
killer story (before the game begins) or we do it in play. This is how I
usually handle initiates too. (I had to give a player some karma so he
could keep up with the group he was with. The player wanted to initiate
with it, and over teh span of an hour, we 'played' it out.)

hee hee! I like that! I've tried to con some of these people into that
myself, but the normal response is "WHAT?!?!?" But after the wonderful
little 'shakedown' I had with Harvey, they don't bug me no more about
spells.

Hmm, does this mean you guys are actually organised? Just a question, do
you know this player from outside the gaming circle? I ask because our
games usually come from within out on-campus club (RPSIG). Do you
have some kind of school sponsored sign-up?
