Sorry I took so long to respond to this. I left my mail on for the week that I
was gone, and found that I had 120 messages! One of a few responses that has
probably come up.

Nightstalker saith:
]The bioware rule doesn't make a whole lot of sense if the game starts in 2054
]since bioware is readily (for shadowrunners anyway) available.
Are you sure about this? I could've sworn that the beginning of Shadowtech
says that it is NOT recommended that beginning characters get this equipment
easily, and indeed, should have to "earn it". (my quotes) Don't make it THAT
easy for the characters to get it! One campaign I was in over the summer took
its time introducing bioware. On one run, when we killed the bad guy, we sold
his body to our friendly local street doc. He had never seen anything like it,
and so we got a quarter mil for it. We also made sure that if he could
duplicate this unique arrangement, that we were in line for it. And that was
just for the bioware muscle augs!

>>He wasn't thrilled when I told him that any mage wanting spells at higher
>>than force 3 has to have magical theory. Another one of my house rules is
>>that spell formulas aren't normally sold at higher than force 3 - mages
]This doesn't make a whole lot of sense. You don't have to have magic theory
]to learn spells. Now it's completely reasonable for you to look at the PC
]mage and say, nice but you need to have some magical theory, but it should not
]need to be written into a rule.

I think what he's saying is that since the spells are hard to find at high
forces, you have to create the spell yourself.

[rules for upping the price on >force 3 spells deleted]
]That allows the player to buy them at whatever force he
]wants, but forces him to pay for it.
Okay. This may just be due to me never playing/creating mages. But if they
take a high tech/force, don't they get both? In which case, it's relatively
easy for them to buy a high force spell, and they also have the spell points to
take advantage of it! I could be way off on that, since I'm not a mage (but I
play one on tri-d)
