On the subject to the followers of the Wicca hierarchial belief system...

I am of the opinion that there is no pressing need for the fabrication of a
wholly new Magical Tradition, in conjunction with Hermeticism, Shamanism, and
Druidism. (although, admittedly, FASA did not exactly enlist my thoughts upon
the proposed Elven Magic system supposedly to be unveiled in the Tir na nOg
sourcebook).

The attempts to cleave to the "traditional" (either cinematic or actual)
methodology of Wiccan practitioners are unnecessary. The elaborate rituals
cited (of the "Double, double, toil and trouble..." fame) could be interpreted
as the intricate ceremonies requisite to the manipulation of the metaphysical
forces in the lower mana environment of the Fifth World. With the advent of
the Awakening (the MUST be a more technical term for that...), the necessity
for going to such length would no longer be in flux.

FASA appears to be of the opinion that Wicca should be treated as a system of
beliefs, as opposed to a structure of metaphysical procedures, and I am
inclined to agree with this sentiment.

As to other examples of new systems which have not received sanctioning by
FASA, with particular emphasis placed upon the Voodoo mentioned in previous
postings, I have found all such proposals to be quite unbalancing. There are
those who already bitterly complain (and not without some justification) about
the (arguably) too-potent magical aspect of ShadowRun, so then to proceed to
supersede the existing systems with even more powerful designs is undesirable,
and to some, unwarranted.
