Dan's right about the slighting of the Cherokee. I always thought Srun leaned
a little too heavily towrad the western tribes.

The Cherokee are in a class by themselves. They were one of the "5 civilized
trbes" (godamn terminal). Like Dan said, they cooperated with the white man and
got screwed proportionately.

Dan, Cherokee nation is here in Oklahoma, I belive (along with the Creek; Creek
capital is in Okmulgee, where my mom works). There's lotsa Cherokee lore here
if anyone wants' it looked up. ..when I have the time.

Movcie anecdote: Indian extras who could skillfully fall off a horse were
valued by Hollywood. Announcements were made that Indians who could fake death
and fall off the horse would be paid extra. So when the camera rolled, a
line of Indians would ride toward the Lone Hero, who with one shot would fel

100 Indians.
