One thing people complaining about lack of treatment of Eastern
indians should realize is that there are a hell of a lot more Indians in
the landlocked Western states. While there still are only 1/50th the number
of Indians in the U.S. today as in NAN in 2054, most of them do live in
Western states. The reason is that the East close is closer to Europe and
the ocean and thus more valuable to colonists. So they shipped the Indians
West or killed/assimilated them. Indian reservations in the East often are
only several acres large, maybe with a casino/tax free gas station/gift
shop. I've seen some Indians that were really whites with an Indian
grandfather or whatever, and I imagine more of this group would live in
the East, because whites have been living there longer. On the other hand,
Western tribes generally have more of their culture/land intact. I believe
it was the Navajo who have that huge reservation at the Four Corners
junction.
