Answer from The Dark Lord on High!!!

First question, put forth by The Reverend:

>Do VCRs apply minuses to making position tests, under ShadowRun II?

No. VCR only serves to generate a Control Pool, by which you may add to the
dice of your Rigger tests, they do not reduce target numbers.

From Jason@*****.com:

>Is there any way to hide an active spell from been seen in astral
>space?
>For an initiate mage
>for a non initiate mage
>on a mundane or an object?

An Initiate may conceal a quickened spell via Masking, treating them as foci.
Non-Initiates and mundane have no way of doing so.

>Do Increase/Decrease attribute (and combat sense) spells have any
>effect on a mage in astral space?
>(ie: does an increase will spell on a mage increase their astral
>will.)

No.

From Bill Flint:

>Could you ask Tom Dowd what are the damage codes for the cyber guns listed in
>the Street Samurai Catalog II, the codes listed are Shadowrun I format style.

Use the corresponding damage codes from similar weapons, always utilizing the
LOWER value.

>Why do contacts has atributes and skills if you try to get info from they or
>ask them to acquire an item for you, you use your appropiate etiquette and not
>the contact's etiquette by then making contacts have skills dumb.

One, you do not only employ the services of Contacts for information
acquisition. They can be called on seeking other types of assistance, and as
such, require statistics.

>What do you suggest to do when a character has an armor rating that higher that
>the power of a weapon. Being a small or big difference.

In the cases of NON-hardened armor, proceed to make the roll. There is the
chance of damage, in the event of a critical failure.

>What is Tom Dowd's favoriate(SP?) type of character?

He laughed and stated simply, "I don't have one."

From Da Minotaur:

>if you have not already called, ask him my question about a the damage
>done by a burst fire composed of different types of bullets-

>ie burst fire of 3 rounds where first is APDS, the second bullet is
>explosive, and the third is flechette, etc....

(paraphrasing)

This is a legitimate question, although the system is not designed for this
sort of idea, admittedly. My suggestion is that you just DON'T do it, as I
can't think of an acceptable way of doing it. You might just say that because
it's different ammunition, there's different recoil, and thus it'd be a bad
idea.

>Doc X

>Please inquire as to the tardiness of arrival of the book
>_Corporate_Shadowfiles_. If the kind Mr. Dowd knows of the reason, please

Been out since August. He has no idea why you have not seen it.

>ask if the problem will be resolved in the near future. Also, please
>question him regarding the estimated time of release on the upcoming SR
>products such as the _German_Sourcebook_, _Denver_Sourcebook_, _Tir_Nan_Og,
>_Harlequin's_Back_, etc. I am aware of the approximate release times but
>I am wondering if there are any exact release dates known.

Germany: 1 January 1994
Denver: June/July 1994
Harlequin: August 1994

And, the most pleasing revelation:

Tir na nOg: "Ships next week."

--Bill Flint

(not actually forwarded to me personally, but it struck me as a good question
to put to The Dark Lord)

>Here a question:
> A sammy with a firarms of 6 with enhanced articulation and a firearms
>reflex recorder. is shooting a dragon(Bad move) and wnats to hurt the dragon
>really badly and decides to throw as many dice from his combat pool as
>possible from a pool of 9.
> How amny dice dose he get from his combat pool? 6, 7, or 8?

Combat Pool additions to test should be based upon the Natural, Unagumented
skill.

From Shadows:

>I've got a question for the Dark Lord in High:
>May I make a programm ( GM aid ) for Shadowrun, and if,
>is he interested in a copy of what I've already done?

>It's a program that takes most of the character sheeyt and asks for
>the skills you want to use. It handles Combats, specialisations too...

"Sure, if it makes *my* life easier, I'd like to see it." Although he does
point out that if you intend to produce and distribute the program in question,
it must be FREEWARE; ShareWare does still infringe upon Copyright laws.
