2 The Universal Brotherhood is a semi-religious cult. It has four
chapter houses in Seattle. The largest of these is The Octagon,
a ten-story building on the corner of 8th and Westlake Avenues.
A second is in the Redmond Barrens neighborhood of Kingsgate. The
3rd is in Puyallup and the fourth is in Everett.

8 The UB is a non-profit corporation with a total UCAS cash flow
of under 1 million nuyen. The brotherhood claims to have about 300
chapters in North America and another 100 worldwide. No known
chapter in the Tir nations but attempts are underway. They are well
connected with one memeber shipping them machine pistols and APDS
ammo.
11 Earlier this spring a freelance writer was asking around about the
UB. He was subsequently killed in a bomb blast that police say he
tried to set up.
** Members come from the higher ranks of: Sony, UCAS Fed. Gov't,
Asst Dir. F.B.I., Lone Star Security, Shiawase Atomics, etc.
Only corp with no known affiliates is Aztechnology.

"Here comes the Brotherhood!"
Californians have always been known for their "flavor-of-the-week"
approach to religions and cult institutions. Some tradtions never seem to
change.
The latest entry is the so-called Universal Brotherhood. A month
ago nobody ever heard of them. On Feb 1, 4 chapters opened their doors
simultaneously across California: 2 in San Fran, 1 in Gilroy, and 1 in
Ukiah. Current estimate show chapter have 10-20 active members.
The Brotherhood espouses a triparite philosophy based on equal parts
of ESP, New Age pseudo-mysticism and a healthy dose of Madison avenue
marketing smarts. Some who have attended meetings say that no specific
religion is ever mentioned, but overtones of spiritual devotion and financial
contribution are reminscent of the televangelist craze at the close
of last century.
The UB declares itself a purely charitable organization, and their
actions so far seem to support that. The 2 San Fran chapter have cooperated
in opening a soup kitchen for squatters while the Ukiah and Gilroy chapters
are each setting up youth recreation centers in impoverished neighborhoods.

Ignore all the ugly rumours about insect totems, insect shamans,
