Subject: Prone snipering <--- Is that even a word?

Quick comment. Prone position is used because it is the very most stable
position one could be in for firing shots. The recoil is still very, very
evident, and from my experience, the recoil has no less that effect that
kneeling or sitting cross legged. Also, someone with decent upper body strength
can compensate fairly well in a full standing position. Of course, not as well
as a position with a lower center of gravity. One last note, recoil shouldn't
matter much with a good sniper--he's only going to shoot once, and then he
melts away into night to strike again later...
