A friend of mine, who left the Marines as a scout sniper a few
months ago, used a few different sniper rifles during his
enlistment. The Barret .50 was among these. Most of the
things he did, and some of the equipment that he used, he
can't talk about (disadvantage of a Top Secret clearance).
Anyway, I asked him specifically about that scene in Navy Seals mentioned
above. He just smiled and said "Ask me again in five years."
And to those who doubt, ball .50 ammo is *extemely* dangerous on it's
own. Make it API-T (Armor Piercing Incendiary with Tracer) and you've
got BIG fun.
