Ok, to para-quote the grim II, you can only center against things
that effect the centering shaman.(pg 43) Shielding (pg 45) enhances
the resisting attribute of the other magician, which in my humble
opinion means that it adds to the base target number...exactly like
a willpower +4 spell would. According to your argument, it is
possible to center away that willpower enhancment as easily as
shielding. I must disagree with this line of logic.

Actually, now that I look at the page again, it isnt IMHO, it's
in the book. Again pg 45 of Grim II, 'shielding aslo enhances
the resisting attribute, thus increasing the t# the attacking
magician needs to succeed'. Again, I would say since shielding
affects the attribute of the resisting magician it is not something
the casting magician can center away. Now, just as drain and spell
casting centering says, if you wish to try with the same target number
for successes to help in casting....go for it, but you still incur
the shielding target number increase ( thats on pg 43). :)
