[regarding PGP]

PGP stands for 'Pretty Good Privacy'. It is an encryption system when
you publish far and wide a key. People can use this key to encrypt a
message to you. Then, you use your private key to decrypt it.
PGP also allows you to add a signature to a message so that people can
verify that it is from you (using your public and published key).
Source and executables are available for Mac, DOS and UNIX.
You can FTP it from:
soda.berkeley.edu:/pub/cypherpunks/pgp
There is a rather large document included that is ESSENTIAL reading as it
fully describes the process and the MANY features in the program.
There is also a newgroup for it, alt.security.pgp.
(as a side node, do decipher a 1024-byte key, it is estimated that it
would take the best CIA or NSA machine several thousand years. You can
see why Uncle Sam doesn't like this program)
