He's right. I pulled some specs out of a book (actually a
Canadian Govt Reference Book concerning new restrictions on firearms)
and it listed typical guns of this class. The typical
Barret ( or similar style gun) was about 1.5 meters in length,
but a bolt action repeater was listed at 889 mm (about the same
size as an AR-15/M-16).
I guess the moral of the story is barrel length. You could, however,
impose range restrictions based on barrel length...
