:]My kinda character!

Hey, "Do unto others before they do unto you."

:]Same thing here. "The GM's god as far as you're concerned, pal!"

It's nice to hear someone else out there affirm the sanctity of GM decisions,
and good to hear of another Role Player.

Basically the thing to remember is that the rules aren't hard and fast rules.
They are guidelines for the GM to interpret and use as is appropriate at the
time. This doesn't mean giving a Banshee to a motor cycle gang, and then not
having the metroplex Guard use attack choppers to suppress it etc. This means
that the GM is there to preserve the flavour of the game. If someone is abusing
the rules, give 'em penalties to overcome the benefits that they get for not
ROLE PLAYING. Some times just saying no is best, sometimes docking Karma (I had
one PC come out of an adventure with -2 Karma for the run) for bad role playing
(Rules abuse counts as PLAYER KNOWLEDGE). Sometimes doing nasty things helps -
show them a role playing nasty side to what they are doing. Shadowrun is an
awesome game when role played, but it can be a real pain when the Rules Players
take over and kill the whole atmosphere. Our GM professes to not even know the
rules. If someone does something that seems appropriate they have more chance
of getting away with it than someone who does something based on a rules
technicality. She preserves the flow and feel of the game without letting it
get bogged down and even our resident rules players are getting into role
playing.

Stay in character
