Physics isn't my strong suit, but there are two things that comes
into consideration with this:
1: Electromagnetic fields follows the inverse square law, thus limiting
range.
2: Sharks live in water, a medium composed of bipolar (is this right)
molecules, and thus they probably have an easier time sensing magnetic
fields.
