I've actually had to deal with this on a couple of occasions. Usually this
deals with either toxic or insect totems competing with an existing totemic
bond. How you resolve the others, I don't know.

However, these are much like the idea of competing powers working through
intermediaries. It's much like Coyote says: "Kid, I've given you the power
to work through me, now you're on your own. Screw up, and it's your head."
The person in question forges a totemic bond, and the other infulence
attempts to subvert the person. However you think it to be is how you play
it, I guess.
