1) I think there is a rule somewhere that you can only start with
one buddy/friend.
2) How many contacts is "MAJOR." Five? Ten? Twenty? Forty? Two of
every contact ever published?
Anybody who has over ten contacts probably has some conflict of
interest. Yakuza Oyabuns and Mafia Dons don't appreciate people
milking both sides. Most corporate types might also treat scruffy
shadowrunners with disdain. Contacts don't have to know everyone in
the 'plex either, their information might be limited to just one
district, one corporation, one shopping mall, or even one lonely
alley.
3) You should have made at least a cursory check on everyone's new
characters. If you don't like people having lots of contacts then
you should have told them so. Even if it's in the middle of a game
its not too late to tell someone NO.
