Just a little point here. I have read Earthdawn (like shadowrun MUCH better)
and the impression of the horrors I got was that yes they are very tough and
nasty, especialy with magic. But I also feel that modern weponry would
shred most horrors to pieces. They are fine in the Earthdawn setting, but
in Shadowrun they have much tougher carachter to deal with. Not just to
mention atomatic machine guns and the like. :)
