As for killing "incidentals"....

Well if they fire first, they're meat. However, my mage has been
(ab)using the Grimoire rules to learn spells the karma-cheap route, and
some of the first I've learned were the (stun) spells. Nothing like
knocking out those sec-guards with a stun spell and just waltzing by
them. Of course if unconsciousness is a dead giveaway that something
happened, so how about putting them into suspended animation? Of course
there can still be problems, but the likelihood of detection can be a lot
lower.
