Just to contrast, my group usually runs 3-4 people, what I consider to be a
good size for a shadow team. We have one human mage, one human Street Samurai,
One Ork Samurai, and one Troll Sammie. We hire out NPC deckers as needed,
specifically one that we work with, and there are other mages and PhysAds
that can be thrown in as needed, but those are the core people.

The mage is a heavy "no-kill" kinda guy, but not out of morals. Dead men
tell no tales, but prisoners can be made downright talkative. He uses stun
spell for prisoners.
The Ork surprised me by having a surprising amount of morals. He's a total
hedonist, but refuses to hurt people unless it's necessary.
The human samurai is me, when I'm not GM'ing. He has no qualms about killing
but doesn't kill unnecessarily. He takes each situation by itself. If there's
a good reason to keep the guy alive, fine, otherwise, he's roadkill. As a
side note, he's a technofettishist type whose been under a surgeon's laser
once too often. He enjoys the personal, hand-to-hand killing way too much, and
can be uncommonly brutal and seeming-randomly violent when the cyberpsychosis
takes over.
The Troll is another story altogether. He not only leaves a trail of dead
bodies behind him, but he prides himself on it, and even keeps count. He
almost never fires a gun, always preferring his axe or spurs. He's extremely
viscious pretty much all of the time, at least to his non-friends.

How does the group interact? The Ork isn't so anti-violence that he bothers
to do more than shake his head in exasperation whenever the Troll bulldozes
someone for little or no reason. The mage has been known to threaten spell
use if things get out of hand.
It works out OK, and makes for some interesting roleplaying.
