Not strictly speaking true. If you killed a far-back ancestor, then you would
either (1) get thrown into another timeline, or spawn a new one, or (2) vanish
or (3) absolutely nothing would happen, because you're only affecting your
"personal" timestrain (wish I could remember the story I saw this in...) or you
could (4) explode into a bloody fireball that spews gruesome body fragments
everywhere, or (5) just keep living because you occured anyways (this would be
hard to explain)...
