rounds, even if they are of the same caliber. The reason for this is
pistol rounds traditionally have a 2:1 length to width ration,
whereas rifles have a 3:1 rati. This means that more powder is put
behind a rifle round than a pistol round, but they are still the same
caliber. One of the reasons a .22 revolver does not shoot as far as a
.22 hunting rifle. And yes, a .22 is a deadly round. It is the
standard assassination round used by government agencies. Although I
wouldn't want to be trying to shoot out a tire with it (.22 will
bounce from a standard inflated tire).
