well, for those of you on the other side of the pond...
AT&T is constantly running ads that show futuristic stuff, and then claim
that AT&T is going to be the company to bring it all to you...for instance:
have you ever borrowed a book from a 1000 miles away?
(shows a woman reading a book on a screen...gee, we can do that already...)
have you ever said goodnight to your baby over the phone?
(mother looking at baby over videophone)
have you ever sent a fax...from the beach?
(guy on the beach with AT&T's version of the Newton)
etc...etc...etc...
the thing is that most of these things are created by other companies, AT&T
is just going to be one of the companies that markets it...'course, if the
cable companies win the fight over the data highway, then AT&T will have to
change some of its commercials...
