permit to exceed the racial maximum for strenth. 2nd, I heard that
you have to train yourself for steroids to have effects. So you would
have to make some kind of rule that will force the PC to train himself
during the game. You have to remember that when a player gives
priorities to the PC, that means how much time (or even karma) he
spends for that categorie. That means when the player gives a low priority
(C,D or E) to the PC's attributes, he doesn't spend much time to hone his
muscles or have a keaner intelligence or be more charismatic. Even if he
gives high priority (A or B) to his attr., if he assign only 2 to his
strenght, that means he doesn't train himself very often (in this case I'd
say never). I think steroids are too activity dependent to put in the rules.
Ok, now I suppose that the player assign priority D to attributes.
He says that for a short time in his PC's life, he (the PC) takes
steroids and trains himself heavily for 9 month. He takes 80 pounds
in muscles. This let him go from 2 to 5 in strenght. That was only a
week ago. So he's strong. He stops his training (remember priority D),
Just because he's not strong naturally (it's not in his genes), if he
doesn't start training soon after that, he will start to lose his strenght.
Let say in the same rhythm he gained it: 1 point per 3 month.
I must say that I'd keep the disadvantages of today's steroid just to make
them think twice about the way they want strength. I would add something
like the loss of essence for prolonged use (1 point per year). It would
be possible to regain essence by stopping steroids and wait 1 year per
point.
Anyway, just some food for... Drek! everybody say that!
