I'm hardly paranoid. I am educated so it's easier for me accept
changes. Being a scientist, change in accepted theories is welcome to
broaden our horizons. However, Bob McGee the farmer in Iowa may not be
as open minded as me. Look at Creationism (not meaning to start a
religious debate-- it's an allegory). It's easier for people to say "The
Bible says this, dam gum it!" rather than to spend the time to study and
understand the meaning behind it. It's also easier to fear something new
than to accept it. Imgine that the rock group was playing and they had a
guy on the stage with a loaded machine gun and was shooting it off.
It'd make me a bit scared, beacuse I have know idea if this guy is a
trained professional or a loon clinging to reality. If there isn't a man
with a gun, then it's easier to enjoy the music.
