According to the rules from SR II, a nature spirit stays around from dawn
to dusk, or vice versa, or when all their services are used up.
Elementals are bound to the mage until he says they aren't, either by
letting them go or using all of their services. Elementals take longer to
summon but you can "have bonded" more than one, a shaman only gets one
nature spirit at a time.
