Remember it costs Force* 1000 nuyen for materials for ONE elemental. If
a CHA 6 mage summons up 6 force 4 elementals, that's 24,000 nuyen. Plus
the type of elemental is important. A bonfire or a flaming brazier is
need for an elemental of fire (okay, you light the brazier on fire, and
woops! The building's fire suppression system goes off, ruining all your
expensive materials!). Air and Earth are relatively easy, but you have
to take a drive out to the beach for water elementals.

And if you're having problems with such creatures, then use the same
versus the runners. Or give them 3 phys adepts with weapon foci to kick
the crap out of the elementals. Spirit bolt does wonders, too.

Not really. Elementals, at least I consider them, really dim. Unless
they have already been summoned byt he same mage, they wouldn't know much
about who was summoning them. And if the mage fails to control the
elemental, the elemental goes nutso being out of its environemt. Oops.

Go for it.. You ARE the ruler of your world, and you can try out
anything that works. And if it DOES work well, let us know. I'm
interested. :-)
