Lots and lots and lots of Karma. Base cost is the new grade + 6 times. This
costs gets multiplied by x3 if self-initiating, or x2.5 if you are part of
a group; the multiplier is reduced for other circumstances (like undergoing
an ordeal). Initation costs 12-18 Karma for Grade 0, 14-21 for Grade 1,
12-24 for Grade 3, etc. Grade 10 costs a minimum of 242 Karma
