As a matter of fact, no, there was no rivalry between the islands. What
happened is this: When the Gaels came to Ireland, some of the Tuatha fled
from Ireland to another land (called TT, TNO, MM, TNB, and Hy-Breasail);
while others stayed behind. The elves of TNO in SR are in fact the
descendants of those Tuatha that stayed behind, and they forgot their own
history. The Elves of TT are the True Tuatha, and they forgot some of their
history. Actually, I believe that there were FIVE Cities of the Tuatha, one
of them being the actual city of Atlantis. I base this off of the Five
Provinces. "But how?", I hear you ask. Well, it's based off the the fact
that all the Provinces, except Meath had at one time a king or queen ruling
them. Meath was the Province of "The High King" of Ireland, with no one
being able to rule over Ireland, as a whole, except if the Stone of Fal let
out its cry to indicate which person was the true king. The Fifth artifact
would be the Crown of Atlantis, that was taken under the sea, still on the
head of the last Ruler of Atlantis. And the Ruler of Atlantis is the Ruler
of all Elvenkind.
