I haven't seen anyone point out that certain cross-breed combinations
should be theoretically impossible because of cacellation effects.

You know, a Force 4 Fire Elemental brought into contact with a Force
6 Water Elemental will mean the Fire is destroyed and the Water
reduced to Force 2.

As far as game balance, I'd also suggest that cross-breed Elementals
should give diluted effects. For example, to sustain an Illusion
spell, using a Fire-Air elemental, halve the Force to give the
effective Force when you're calculating the benefits it gives you.
