Stating the obvious: the only reason those are in the Shadowrun books are
because FASA didn't want to put (close your eyes) "shit" and "fuck"
(okay,
you can open them again) in print, IMO for fear of triggering the sorts of
responses that have been flying around this list lately.
I for one wouldn't/don't mind "profanity" in RPG books or this maili8ng list
-- hell (or heck, as some of you'd want it), I'd applaud FASA or whoever if
they actually _did_ put it in. The only RPG product I've read so far which
said "shit" (and then only once) was a sourcebook for Mage: The Ascension,
all the others I've seen have avoided such words by inventing other words
that look/sound like them.
If you don't like my attitude, too bad. Really, I don't care. Then just
don't waste any more bandwidth (I'm doing that enough already) replying
about this topic, or do it as private email if you want to. And I stress
that this last paragraph should _not_ be seen as a flame, only as my
personal opinion (for all that's worth) on this subject.
