I did... it says: Shielding increase the number of dice... and it also
enhances the resisting Attribute.
If it added to the attribute, rather than enhancing it, you'd get the dice
twice. And, quite clearly, if there is no resisting Attribute (as in the
case of a Damaging Manipulation), you just get the dice, so you might as
well only use spell defence.
