I guess it'll be years before I get around to writing about this,
so I'll share it with you all now, instead:

Do this to the mage, in sequence:

1) Handcuffs
2) Blindfold
3a) Wrap in ivy (growing from a pot plant, if long imprisonment needed)
or
3b) Bury them in soil (living earth)

Use (3a) if you want them portable, (3b) if you don't.

The simplest technique is to keep them unconscious.
The nastiest technique is to unmage them - shoot them full of
stimpatches, over and over again, until their Magic is down to 1.
Then add some cyberware.
