Still have to get the karma to bond it. And that just doesn't happen in
character creation. BTW, your chars have @***,000 to 700,000 nuyen to spend
on that?

Right, he'd have the karma for it instead (between 15 and 30 points
according to that example).

Sure, start off base. That means NO karma. Which means no focus. Well,
you can have it, but it's just a pretty axe instead.

Our phys ads don't get NEAR as many dice as the samurai. They have to pay
for those powers, you know... they aren't free. And 6 points can go a ways,
but not near as far as cyberware. (to make unarmed 4 to unarmed 6 costs 1
magic point...to make strength go up from max to higher costs 1.5 points per
point, same for quickness, etc. Assuming you'll want some kind of
reflexes... 1 to 4 points. Combat pool? Dice + 1 in cost... overall it's
too expensive to be on par with a sam of equal experience)

Sammies can do the same. Karma spent the right (well, not right...but point
maxxing) way will give equal to more dice.

Only if they limit themselves in skills. Samurai don't have to worry about
that with skillwires and spare karma. One day he's Bruce Lee Jr. and the
next he's The Terminator. Oh, and if he needs to be a nuclear physicist for
a while, he's got that covered too. And what's this "to a degree" bit? To
the Nth degree, maybe...

(wondering why samurai's combat pool doesn't seem to get enough attention,
especially when your talking about one facing a troll phys ad)
