Yes i have read that, though i have not had the NAGA file long so
have not really reread it much yet to remember what the shadowtalk
covers. I did not say you could not do what the NAGA quote suggests
though i had forgotten about that quote and may have erred somewhat
on the side of no as i was thinking of the suggested slap pathch
method i was answering at the time . If you look at earlier rules slap
patching someone below magic rating 3 or 4 gets to be rather time (and
money, those things are not cheap) consuming. I noted mostly that it
was not in my opinion the most effective way to stop a prisoner chucking
spells. Do note that the NAGA excerpt implies thatthis process could take
a while whereas the cops are going to what to stop spells from day 1.

Hope the final version of that paragraph makes sense! Its got abit
twisted trying to avaoid contradicting myself, hope i succeded.

Generally what a number of folks seem to be forgetting is that even
the corporations and police (when they are not a corp, i.e. the star
e.t.c.) cannot just dissapear every magical active captive they get.
The corporations don't have the grip on the population that the
Soviet Union had and information has brought them low. To cover
public opinion they have got to bring most folks to trial legally,
and that means without tourture, or doing lasting (and in the 2050's
that would include magical ability damage) damage to the prisoner or
sooner or later the word would get out. Information is hard enough to
suppress now let alone with the communications available in the SR
world (well outside the few hundred thousand that actually live in
Archologies, there are not many of those things). Thet can cover a
lot but ony if there is plenty legitimate stuff in which to hide it,
and what about the NAN nations e.t.c. (most of em anyway) that have a
more 'enlkightened' view of things?
