The Crow asks: "Why would anyone want to initiate beyond grade 0 anyway..." In
a word - roleplaying. Remember the blurb in the Grimoire about magicians and
magic? Presumably, the Magic is everything to magicians. It can be fun to play
a character that is not 'optimized' to the rules of the game. Let me reverse
the question; why would any mage or shaman want to spend time and karma lifting
weights [to increase body/strength] when they could be increasing their grasp
of magic through higher grades of initiation?
Don't get me wrong, my hermetic just blew 5 karma on a Dale Carnegie course on
How-to-win-friends-and-influence-elementals. But I felt obligated to weave it
into the character history rather than just a simple I'm increasing my charisma
to 5 comment to the GM.
