You can put spell locks on any living thing, not sure about cars
but you can certainly quicken a spell onto a car.

The lock is put on him so no LOS problem, of course if your friend
gets caught the bad guys pick it up and have a link right back to you.
It also still counts against your int based active foci limit.
Solution is use quickening but and mundane who lets you put an astral
link on them they cannot defend is plain stupid.
